Being present involves being fully engaged and aware in the current moment. This is not always easy.
Having the ability to be present takes practice and concentrate. Especially if you've lived in your head for most of your life. It's easy to get caught in your head. Thinking about all the ways your are going to fix that spaceship. No really, we can live in our heads so much that we lose days and events. Maybe, your are suppose to be enjoying time with your family but someone says something in pasting and you get hung up on said conversation. Practicing mindfulness can help you refocus your thoughts so that you can enjoy what's in front of you.
To cultivate presence, you can practice mindfulness, which involves paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment.

You can also try limiting distractions, such as putting away your phone or closing unnecessary tabs on your computer. Taking deep breaths and focusing on your senses can also help bring you into the present moment. Focus therapy helps me stay present.
