You Know That You're Toxic
How many of us have entered into friendships and unknowingly became their dumping grounds, their catch all or the after thought? Toxic relationships can affect your mental health, self-esteem and create a layer of mistrust.
What can you do when faced with toxic people?
First, evaluate your emotions. What triggers are they setting on fire? Is the relationship worth saving? Is that person causing you unwarranted stress and anxiety? If Yes is the re-occuring answer, you should really start deciding if you need to take yourself out of the situation.
Ultimately, you have a really say in how people treat you. I do understand that there are some situations that are more complicated (i.e., parents, siblings, co-workers, etc.). Today, we are just focusing on friendships.
