Let’s Talk Authenticity.
By: Loveli Brown, xoxo Holistic Mental Health Advocate and Confidence Rebuilding Coach
At some point in adulthood, perfection just gets… loud.
Loud in expectations.
Loud in pressure.
Loud in the way it convinces us we should already “have it together.”
And honestly?
I’m too old for that.
What I’ve learned, through this healing journey, rebuilding confidence, navigating mental health, and yes, even through beauty routines, is that authenticity will always feel better than performing.
This season of my life isn’t about impressing anyone.
It’s about enjoying what I do.
It’s about telling myself the truth.
It’s about choosing joy, even when adulting feels heavy.
📺 Watch the full conversation here:
We Spend Too Much Time Trying to Be Perfect, Instead of Just Being
Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught that adulthood meant having answers, clarity, and consistency at all times.
But real life doesn’t work like that.
We evolve.
We outgrow things.
We misjudge situations.
We buy the wrong makeup shade.
We stay too long in places that no longer serve us.
And that’s not failure, that’s being human.
One of the most freeing realizations I’ve had is this:
You don’t need to perform your healing. You need to experience it.
Honest Conversations Change Everything:
There’s a difference between being busy and being fulfilled.
Between looking put together and feeling grounded.
That difference lives in honesty.
Honest conversations with yourself sound like:
“This no longer feels good.”
“My expectations were unrealistic.”
“I’m allowed to change my mind.”
“I need straight talk, not sugarcoating.”
Growth requires truth.
And truth doesn’t always arrive quietly, but it always arrives honestly.
Mental Health, Confidence & Letting Go
Rebuilding confidence isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about returning to yourself.
Mental health work teaches us how to:
Let go of what drains us
Set boundaries without guilt
Stop carrying what was never ours
Find happiness in what we do—not how it looks to others
Confidence doesn’t come from perfection.
It comes from alignment.

Beauty Routines Are Part of the Journey (Yes, Really)
Let’s talk beauty for a second.
Makeup can be fun.
Skincare can be grounding.
Rituals can be healing.
But just like life, beauty requires care.
Sometimes the issue isn’t the product, it’s how we’re using it.
User error shows up in makeup and in life.
And instead of shaming ourselves, we get curious:
What works for me now?
What feels joyful instead of forced?
What can I release?
That curiosity is self-care.
Adulting Is a Shared Experience, Not a Solo One.
Here’s the truth nobody tells you loudly enough:
We’re all figuring this out as we go.
Every single one of us.
The magic happens when we stop pretending we’re alone in it.
Community reminds us:
It’s okay to stumble
It’s okay to change direction
It’s okay to rest
It’s okay to grow out loud
We deserve support.
We deserve honesty.
We deserve joy.
